You are invited to LEARN and SHARE IT inovations on WiSH!

********************************************************

Are you Curious about certain new technologies?  Or are you Skeptical?

Have you got plans to introduce a new IT service at your library?  Or have you recently launched one?

Would you need some incentives to help you start off your learning plan this year?

If you answer ‘yes’ to any of the above, you may like to VOLUNTEER to lead the IT Learn and Share on WiSH.

In the coming months, we’re going to launch a new initiative on WiSH, which will involve everyone in the community to learn, as well as to share.

  • We will invite 10-12 colleagues to lead the IT Learn and Share.  Of course, volunteers are most welcome!
  • Each colleague will take turn to share one IT innovation of his / her own choice.  He / she will initiate the discussion within a defined period of time.
  • The IT innovation can be something already implemented locally, or simply something in which the he / she is interested.
  • He / she will explain on WiSH what the IT innovation is, whether there are examples of implementation, and/or what are his / her personal experience / thoughts of it … etc.
  • On WiSH there’ll be a space for others to participate in the discussion.  Everyone in WMHLN will be involved to share … e.g. What else do you know about the IT innovation?  Have you tried it?  Can you provide more examples about it? What are the pros and cons?  What do you think as the added value to your service delivery if you introduce it locally?  … etc.
  • The colleagues who introduce the topic will be committed to facilitate the discussion every now and then, add in more flavors or even controversies to the course of it.

We believe that, through this approach, we, as a community, learn together and share what we have learnt.

At present we are in the process of working out the detail plan, that means Who-to-lead-on-What-and-When.   And we’d love to hear from any volunteers.  Everyone and anyone can volunteer.  You don’t need to be library manager, neither do you need to have expert knowledge of IT.  All you would need is a curiosity and a desire to learn and share.

Don’t wait for us to approach you.  Do get in touch with either Sharon or Bertha if you’re interested.
